Released on October 23, 2015, The Chainsmokers released their very first EP entitled “Bouquet”. Before the release of the EP, the duo of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall gave the world a taste of what the pair is really capable of aside from their comedic tracks, i.e. “Kanye” and “#SELFIE”, and that ladies and gentlemen would be “Roses”. Now if I were to say that “Roses” was just their best song ever released, I would be lying to you, and folks I am not a liar. This smash hit was more than just “their best song ever”, “Roses” was and is the song of the summer of 2015 and quite frankly the song of the year… every year. Now “Roses” isn’t just another synth pop because in my opinion synth pop songs go from being pretty good to “eh” after repeated play, but not this beauty, this song gives you that feel good vibe that makes you want to get out of your seat and move your body every time its played, but I digress. The Chainsmokers’s EP “Bouquet” was something a little less than extraordinaire, now don’t get me wrong, this EP was pretty good but this duo should strive for something more than “pretty good”, they should strive for releasing the equivalent of “Roses” or even better. Now it isn’t fair to rate the rest of the EP on a scale from 1 to “Roses”, but if you’re going to set the bar that high you best be able to hit that mark or exceed it with each subsequent release or else you’ll have people saying “this isn’t as good as [song title]”. And for that The Chainsmokers’s EP “Bouquet” gets a rating of 8/10.
